Planetshakers can always be counted on to bring some solid music for the church. Their latest release gives us some great music to work with. Here’s one worship pastor’s perspective on this album.
Endless Praise // Punchy and synth driven, endless praise opens this album up with a lot of energy. There are a lot of nuances to the music that will be a lot of fun for your team.
Turn it Up // I love the line “We lift our praise and you change the atmosphere.” God has the power to change the lives of those that come in to our services every week. You could open your set with this song to help them put aside their
Dance // You probably should be able to tell by the name of the song that this one will challenge your crowd to move. Much like Chris Tomlin’s “God Great Dance Floor, ” the lyrics of this song are there to really just augment the dance music. The bridge is a full dubstep breakdown which could easily be out of place if your church isn’t ready for it.
No Other Name // Declaring the truth about Jesus and the power in his name, “No Other Name” gives us a fresh song to sing His name. The bridge simply sings “Jesus, no other name.” You may want to take the song down a whole step for your service if you find the bridge hard to reach.
Made for Worship // God created us to praise Him. The chorus declares “I was made to worship, I was made to bless Your name.” There’s so much truth in this song and it could be used as a great way to help your congregation really understand that we were made to worship our Creator.
Kiss Towards // Transitioning right out of “Made for Worship,” this track is an great example of pure spontaneous worship. I’ve already sent this track on to a couple worship leaders on my teams to give them an idea about how to really lead a time that isn’t scripted out in the worship set. The band really builds and follows the leader and breaks back to “Made for Worship.”
Unto God // The bridge for this one sings “Holy is the Lord” and is quite easy to pick up and sing.
Praise You Lord // The mid-album pick me up, “Praise You Lord” declares the reasons to praise God. The bridge sings John 8:36 “Whom the son sets free is free indeed.” Singing scripture is always a good idea as it helps your church hide God’s word in their hearts.
Oh Your Love // This one has some really tasty music for your team. Your bass player and drummer are going to have a blast on this one.
Our God Reigns // Another ballad about the reign of God over our lives. Could be a good song to use for your female leaders if you’re looking for one.
Set Me Ablaze // It’s safe to assume that everyone in your congregation needs more God in their life. This chorus gives them a chance to cry out that God would move and fill them. It’s quite singable and easy to catch on to.
Abide With Me // Working as a follow up to “Set me Ablaze,” this song asks for the Holy Spirit to dwell and be near. We’re told that God draws near to those who draw near to Him. The bridge sings “heaven open, glory fall down, fill us once again” which is an awesome anthem for your congregation.
We Are Free // Another pumping song that could be used as an opener or a close of your service if you want people to head out on a high note.
Leave Me Astounded // This is a studio track that has a duet for a guy and gal to lead. There are some fun harmonies and the bridge is easy to catch on to.
