I would have to say that my favorite pedal is the RV-5. That is the one pedal that I know will always be on my board. The combo of it’s Hall setting mixed with the Eterna Verb is great for swells and ambience.
HOW COULD SOMEONE START BUILDING A RIG LIKE YOURS?
I would say really explore your options. With all the amazing pedal makers out there, there’s so many different sounds to discover. Remember that just because something is popular, that doesn’t mean that it’s the right fit for you. Don’t just get a pedal because it’s popular – really compare it to others to find what you like.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO BECOME A BETTER MUSICIAN?
Practice! That, and really exploring different artists.
No amount of pedals will make you better, they will only act as a nice cover up. Practice your scales and learn theory. it will pay off in the long run. It’s really easy to get caught up listening to just worship music, but it doesn’t hurt to pull from other influences. Find an artist you enjoy, and then find out who they enjoy and listen to them.
If you are passionate about your craft, never quit. Keep going. Even when you want to quit, or when others try to shoot down your dreams, Keep on it, and do it for you. Do it because God put something in you to share with others and glorify Him. God loves a dreamer, a risk taker. So keep playing, through the good and bad.
