As many of you guys know, there are some really awesome pages on Instagram! We’ve had the chance to work with Brad of Toneheaven many times and he’s an awesome guy! We asked him some questions and hope you enjoy getting to know him as much as we have!
Tell us about how Tone Heaven got started.
Tone Heaven was birthed to create a community of musicians that thrive on building each other up and helping each other through personal experience and knowledge. There were other gear pages before Tone Heaven, but I thought that I could provide a different angle that wasn’t being presented. Tone Heaven is more than just an IG gear page. We have a fully functional website with resources for those just starting out on guitar.
What would you say is the most common guitar pedal you see on people’s boards.
I think it would be a tie between the Strymon Timeline and JHS Morning Glory. Seems like the Timeline is the popular delay right now and the Morning Glory is the popular overdrive. We all know that it could change overnight.
Would you say your audience is mostly worship leaders?
I know that there are many worship musicians that follow Tone Heaven, but I am not sure what the majority is. I would like to think that Tone Heaven appeals to not only the worship musicians, but also to the secular musicians as well.
Do you serve on a worship team? Tell us about it.
I do. I have been serving on my worship team for roughly 8 years and play or lead most weekends. Although I don’t consider myself as being a great musician, I play with some extremely talented people with the best hearts you could ask for.
How do you go about selecting boards to feature?
When I decided to create Tone Heaven I really wanted people to feel like everyone could be featured, as long as a few requirements were followed. 1) The board needs to look clean. | You can tell a lot about someone by the way their board is set up. I will not feature boards that look like they just fell from the sky. 2) A good picture of the board. | No one wants to see a board that is blurry or in the dark. Turn on a few lights and hold on the the camera steady. 3) Picture must be in Landscape. | The way that I edit the pictures, I only use landscape orientation. Usually if I get a picture that is square or in portrait orientation, I will email back and ask for a new one.
How do you select “Save my Tone” questions?
Save My Tone questions are usually posted when there is a question that I feel is better suited for the community. Short simple questions will usually get an email response directly from me.
Where can people get a hold of you?
I can be reached by filling out a form on our Contact Us page.
How can people help spread the word?
There are several ways to get the word out. Post and tell your friends about Tone Heaven via social network. Use #toneheaven on all of you gear related post. Tell all of your musician friends by word of mouth. Buy a Tone Heaven sticker and put in on your case or pedalboard. $2.99 @ toneheaven.net.
The 1st 20 people that repost this post and email me at toneheaven@gmail.com will receive a free Tone Heaven Sticker!
