We had a great conversation after service yesterday about crowd participation in our services and it’s really got me thinking about how we as worship leaders should be living a lifestyle that gives glory to God every day.  Our worship services will be anemic at best if we’re not regularly spending time with God throughout the week.  Check this verse out:

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1

While this verse is often quoted I think we most often don’t really take it to heart.  Paul is telling us that our worship is so much more than a weekly gathering…he doesn’t even mention a weekly gathering!  Imagine if we spent our week striving daily to be holy and acceptable, recognizing that our lives our a sacrifice to Him.  Not only would our daily walk with God be stronger, our worship services would see deeper connection to God.

I want to encourage you today, worship leader, to dig in deep to God this week.  Spend time in His word daily, find time to hide away with your instrument and sing praise to Him.  Encourage your team to do the same and watch as God begins to do a work in your weekend services.
