One of my more favorite worship songs to sing in recent years is “Love Came Down”, by Brian Johnson (Bethel Church). I played this song last week and got consumed in the lyrics of “I am Yours, I am Yours, For all my days Jesus I am Yours.” It is a simple lyric but holds a very strong statement…..”For all my days Jesus I am Yours”.
This statement of faith says it all.
As I sang those words I was convicted and wondered to myself, do I live all of my days for Jesus? It is easy for me to say that I do…..but do my actions back that up? I have found myself caught up in this world lately and need to have this reminder in my life.
Romans 11:36 “For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.”
I have prayed those words aloud over the past week and placed each step in a direction towards Christ. If we are to spend all our days as His, in His presence, I believe we have to live in a way that reflects that. I take it as a compliment when I am told by people (specifically those who do not yet know Jesus) that I am different, yet they can’t pinpoint why….they just want what I have. They admire the outlook and perception that is put on life’s circumstances. They see the invisible hope that is God’s love on his people.
My prayer for each one of us this week is simple:
Father God, I come to you and ask that all who read this are blessed by your word. That they may walk each step with you and be a shining light in this mixed up world. Father, point us in the direction you need us to go, even when it seems foreign or uncertain. May we trust wholly in You, in praise and honor we worship our King. I pray these words in the mighty name of your Son, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
