I had the chance ask Brad some questions. He runs a great resource called Worship Links.
TCC: Where do you serve in worship ministry? Tell us about your church?
Brad: I’m the worship leader for Crossings Community Church in Columbia, Pennsylvania. We’re a small church in a fairly depressed little river town, but I love it here. We’re trying to reach a community that’s been down on its luck, so to speak, for several generations. A lot of people around here have given up hope for a better life, but we can offer them everlasting life, and that’s pretty exciting.
I also sing and play guitar in a Christian band called Juan Catorce Band, and we occasionally do worship sets. So I get to lead worship inside the church and outside the church, which is a lot of fun.
TCC: What is the heart behind worship links?
Brad: There’s a lot of information on the web about worship. A lot. But sometimes more isn’t better; it’s just more. With Worship Links, my desire is to sort through the various worship blogs and other sources to present our readers with just a few of the best links every day. Sometimes it’s a blog post from a fellow worship leader, sometimes it’s a news article that I think might be of interest to other worship leaders, and other times it’s a devotional or something about leadership.
More recently, I’ve started conducting interviews with worship leaders and worship artists, because I think everyone has something they can contribute to the larger conversation. That’s been really fun. I also do some reviews, although I’m admittedly really bad at doing those in a timely manner. 🙂
So in a nutshell, I have three goals. I want to bless those are contributing by sharing what they write with (hopefully) a bigger audience. I want to help equip those who can learn from those resources. Most of all, I want to bring honor and glory to God by helping all of us learn more about worship.
TCC: What is one of the ways God has worked through worship links recently?
Brad: You know, I don’t know if I could pick just one! It’s a bunch of little things. Sometimes I’ll get an email from someone thanking me for pointing them to a specific article. Or I’ll get a Twitter reply with a “thanks, I needed that!” kind of message. Those are the things that really show me that God is in this and that I’m helping other worship leaders, even if in small ways.
TCC: How can our readers be praying for your ministry?
Brad: My biggest concern with this ministry is that it honors God above all else, so that would be my prayer.
[…] So it was an odd turn of events when Ryan Loche at The Church Collective asked if I’d be up for an interview on their site. It’s a short interview in which I share a little bit about my own ministries, the reasons I started this site, and how others can pray for me. Here’s a sample: […]
