I had the chance to chat with Nick Kaskel about his ministry on the road. He’s heading out on a short tour with Brian Campbell and will be keeping us updated!
TCC: Tell us a cool story from being on the road.
Nick: The only one that comes to mind is when i was with Aaron in Ohio and we were hiking before a show. We were climbing on a fallen tree and i slipped and fell into a mud puddle. so i led worship covered in mud. Come as you are, right?
TCC: How has God worked through you while on the road?
Nick: I think my favorite part about leading worship on the road is that where ever you go God is moving. Well duh, Nick, God is everywhere. Exactly! I didnt fully understand that until I started playing in foreign congregations. To lead worship in my own church was comfortable. I was familiar with the movement of God in my own place of worship. But to see that God is moving and flowing through different churches, across the country and even world is an amazing thing to experience first hand. Hah i hope that makes sense.
TCC: What sort of challenges do you face while on the road?
Nick: Well. For me personally? Im a dad. Any father who tours would agree with me when i say; being away from your family for a period of time is the worst. but it comes with the job. A lot of guys have a hard time finding the balance between traveling and family and usually hang up the towel. But again, in my situation, God has always remained faithful and so far that balance has been well kept.
TCC: Where are you going to be for the next 5 days?
