  1. Hey man, I think you do a great job with your tutorials. One thing I would like to say though is that the reason I found your videos was through a comment you made on a guy’s tutorial for a worship song. You were pretty rude with how you pointed out that the guitar parts weren’t one hundred percent correct and I just thought it was very unnecessary and didn’t really serve a purpose other than make him feel bad. I would encourage you to not be so negative towards someone who is trying to help people worship. I’m sure you’re a great guy, but honestly it just made you look like a tool and could possible hurt what you guys are trying to accomplish with TCC.

    God Bless,
    Will

  2. Hey there, friend. I’m assuming you’re referring to a Christ Is Enough video that was made by the actual Hillsong team. It was uploaded to Youtube by someone who didn’t record the actual tutorial, who illegally rips all the actual Hillsong instrument parts DVDs and uploads them. At the time, I was very frustrated because I actually paid money for that DVD so I could learn the parts, and the Hillsong guitarists did a very poor job with those tutorials (not playing the right parts accurately / a LOT of mistakes / audio out of sync / Timon Klein checking his phone in the middle of a tutorial.) I sent Hillsong an email afterwards telling them all of that, and it was very similar to my comment. It’s not about playing the parts 100% correct. It’s about trying.

Watching Hillsong put out a product like that and charging money for it actually fueled me to make my own tutorials, work really really REALLY hard getting them right, pay for the master tracks out of my own pocket, film and edit them by myself, and then give them away for free. I never have and NEVER will ever say anything negative on a Youtube video who makes their own tutorials, and the only reason I commented that time is because I know that wasn’t the original tutorial maker. I work with young musicians all day, every day and always try to be as encouraging as possible.

If it wasn’t that video for Christ Is Enough, then it wasn’t me who made the comment.

However, thank you for pointing all that out, and I’ll make sure I’m more aware of the things I say on the ‘net.
